Ronaldinho

Ronaldinho was and maybe still is one of the best football players in the world. When you think of football tricks Ronaldinho is the first player that comes up in your mind. He has great skills and did some awesome tricks throughout his career, especially during his time at Barcelona when he was probably the best player in the world.

Ronaldinho´s youthRonaldinho was born in Porto Alegre, Brazil. Ronaldinho started playing futsal as a young child. At age 7 he joined Gremio one of the major teams in Brazil. He scored 21 goals in 44 matches for Gremio. In 2001 Ronaldinho signed at French club PSG where he would stay until 2003. In 2003 many clubs were interested in Ronaldinho, who had just won the world up in 2002 with Brazil and scored a famous free-kick goal against England. It was FC Barcelona who signed Ronaldinho for 27,5 million euro.

Barcelona

At his first season with Barcelona Ronaldinho didn't win any prices but this would change soon. In his second season Barcelona with the help of Ronaldinho won the Spanish Championship and Ronaldinho was named FIFA World Player of the Year 2004. In the following 2005-2006 season Barcelona won La Liga again and Ronaldinho was awarded FIFA World Player of the Year 2005. In the same season Barcelona won the UEFA Champions League by beating Arsenal in the final with 2-1. After this year Ronaldinho didn't win anymore prices with Barcelona and he was going to leave Barcelona at the end of the 2007-2008 season. At Barcelona Ronaldinho had the best period of his career. He scored 70 goals in 145 appearences for Barcelona and was widely seen as the best player of the world at that time. During his stay at Barcelona he won La Liga twice. He also won the UEFA Champions League in 2005-2006 by beating Arsenal in the final.

AC Milan

Ronaldinho MilanIn July 2008 Ronaldinho signed at AC Milan in Italy. Ronaldinho scored his first goal for Milan in a 1-0 victory against rival Internazionale. Ronaldinho was still a great player at AC Milan but never got his level back of his Barcelona period. Ronaldinho has done amazing tricks throughout his career and remains one of the best players of the last decade.

Flamengo

On 11 January 2011 Ronaldinho signs a contract with Flamengo and returns back to Brazil. With his come back to Brazil he hopes to have a greater chance to play the World Cup 2014 in Brazil.

Diego Maradona

Maradona was a player who could dribble very well, as well as taking free kicks and giving assists. Some of his famous goals/dribbles were at the 1986 Fifa World Cup against England and Belgium. He made the Goal of the Century against England in the quarter finals. He is also famous because of his 'Hand of God' goal against England by scoring with his hand. He is wideley seen as one of the best football players ever togethere with Brazilian football player Pele.

Diego Maradona Boca JuniorsDiego Armando Maradona was born on 30 Ocotber 1960 in Lanus Argentina. At age 10 while playing at his neighborhood club Estrella Roja he was scouted for Argentinos Juniors. He played in the youth of Argentinos and made his debut for the first team at age 15 He played 5 years for Argentinos after he went to Boca Juniors in 1981. He had impressive dribbles and scored amazing goals, he won the primera divison with Boca Juniors that year and earned a transfer to European topclub FC Barcelona.

Barcelona

In 2 seasons at Barcelona Maradona scored 38 goals in 58 matches again scoring amazing goals. In a match against Athletic de Bilbao Maradona was victim of hard tackles on him. Athletic's Andoni Goikoetxea made a terrible offense on Maradona, Maradona got injured but he came back later that year scoring 2 goals in a match againt Sevilla. In the final of the Copa del Rey against Athletic Bilbao 1984 Maradona gets tackled again, this time Maradona gets angry and kicks a player of Bilbao causing a fight to start. Barcelona loses the match with 1-0 and it will be Maradona's last match for Barcelona. He leaves Camp Nou in 1984 signing a contract at Napoli.

Napoli

At Napoli Maradona leads the club to its first championship in the Serie A in 1986/1987 and repeats this at 1989/1990. In 1989 Napoli wins the UEFA Cup Maradona scores a goal in the 2-1 vicotry against VfB Stuttgart.







World Cup 1986

One of the most famous matches is against England in the quarter final. Six minutes into the second half with a score of 0-0 Maradona gets the ball, he passes some defenders and gives a pass to one of his teammates an England defender tries to clear the ball but miscues and the ball gets high into the penalty area. Then Maradona comes and touches the ball with his left hand over goalkeeper Peter Shilton, the ball gets into the goal and the referee allows the goal. After the match Maradona said it was''The hand of god''. Four minutes after this goal Maradona scores another goal, this time after an amazing dribble passing five defenders. In 2002 the goal was voted `Goal of the Century´. Argentina won with 2-1 against England and reached the semi-finals in which they defeated Belgium with 2-0 and both goals from Maradona. Argentina won the final of the tournament against West Germany with 3-2. Maradona won the Golden Ball for best player of the tournament.

Last years of his career

Diego Maradona World Cup 1994After the 1990 Fifa World Cup in which Argentina lost the final against West Germany maradona was banned for 15 months for failing a drug test for cocaine. Maradona left Napoli in 1992 and joined Sevilla in 1993 he left Sevilla already and joined Newell's Old Boys in Argentina. At the 1994 Fifa World Cup Maradona was back for a moment by scoring a goal against Greece in the group stage. After the match he was sent home for failing a drug test. In 1995 Maradona returned to Boca Juniors for the last 2 years of his career.



Coach

Maradona was Argentina's coach at the 2010 Fifa World Cup in South Africa. Argentina lost in the quarter final against Germany with 4-0 and maradona was fired.

Zinedine Zidane

Zinedine Zidane was a player who had a great technique and could dribble very well. He had a great passing ability and also used alot of football tricks. One of his famoust tricks he used was the Zidane roulette, a trick named after him. Although several players like Maradona had done the Zidane roulette before, Zidane is the player who most often and effectively used the trick. Zidane won the World Cup 1998 by scoring 2 goals in the final against Brazil.

Zinedine Zidane JuventusWhen Zidane was born on 23 June 1972 in Marseilles France, his parents were just emigrated to France from Algeria in 1968. Zidane started his professional football career at Cannes in 1988 where he would play 4 years. He then joined Bordeaux in 1992 and won the Intertoto Cup in 1995 and finished runner-up in the 1995-1996 UEFA Cup. In 1996 Zidane made the transfer to the UEFA Champions League winner Juventus where he would stay until 2001.

In the 1996-1997 season Zidane won the Serie A at his first season with Juventus and lost the UEFA Champions League Final with 3-1 to Borussia Dortmund. One year later Juventus won again the Serie A and again reached the Champions League Final which they lost with 1-0 to Real Madrid.

European and World champion

France won the tournament by winning the final with 3-0 against Brazil, Zidane scored 2 goals in the final and was awarded FIFA World Player of the year in 1998. Two years later at the 2000 European Championship in Belgium and The Netherlands France won again a tournament, this time by defeating Italy in the final with 2-1. Zidane scored 2 goals and was named player of the tournament by UEFA.




Zidane at Real Madrid

In the 2002 UEFA Champions League Final Zidane scored the winning goal by making a volley with his weaker foot. Madrid won with 2-1 against Bayer Leverkussen. The next season Real Madrid won La Liga, the Spanish championship. Zidane was awarded FIFA World Player of the Year 2003. In 2004-2005, 2005-2006 Madrid both ended second in La Liga and the 2005-2006 season was Zidane's last year at Madrid he would only play at the World Cup that year before ending his career.




World Cup 2006

At Zidane's last tournament, the FIFA World Cup 2006 France reached the final again. Zidane had been playing very well this tournament giving perfect passes to teammates and doing some nice dribbles. The final in Berlin against Italy would be Zidane's last match. After just 7 minutes Zidane puts France ahead by scoring a penalty kick. Then Materazzi scores 1-1 for Italy in the 19th minute. After 90 minutes the score is still 1-1 and the match was forced into extra time. In the 110th minute of the game Zidane who was in conlfict with Materazzi knocked Materazzi down with his head. Zidane was send of for his headbutt and France lost the final by penalties, it was Zidane's last match as a football player.
